Daily Prayer Companion is a Catholic prayer app for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is handled. The short version is: the app collects no personal data, sends nothing over the internet, and keeps everything you enter on your own device.
We collect nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, or receive any personal information. It performs no network requests of any kind. There are no servers, no databases, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party advertising or tracking frameworks in the app.
Some information is stored locally on your device so the app can remember your preferences and progress between sessions. This includes:
All of this is stored in a local file on your device using Apple's standard protected storage. It never leaves your device, is never uploaded, and is never accessible to us or to any other party.
The optional Apple Watch companion app keeps a copy of this device-local data to show your prayer, the daily reading, and your ring on your wrist. That copy is transferred directly between your iPhone and your Apple Watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework — a private, device-to-device link. It is not transmitted over the internet and never passes through our servers (we have none).
If you enable "gentle reminders," the app schedules local notifications that are delivered by iOS on your device. They are generated and stored entirely on your device; nothing about them is sent to us. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings. The app asks for notification permission only after you choose to set a reminder — never at first launch.
Because the app collects no information, there is nothing to use or share. Specifically:
Your device-local data is protected by the standard security and file protection provided by iOS and watchOS. The app contains no networking code, so there is no attack surface for transmitting your data. Because all information lives only on your device, the strongest protection you have is your device's own lock screen and passcode.
To delete all data the app stores, simply delete the app from your iPhone (and Apple Watch). All locally stored data — your focus, rings, journal, favourites, reading progress, and reminder settings — is removed with it. We hold no copy anywhere, because we never receive your data in the first place.
The app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected, there is nothing to disclose about how children's information is handled.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Because the app's privacy posture — no collection, no transmission — is a property of the app itself, any future change that would affect that posture would also be described clearly here.
